Genoptix recently broke out on above average trading volume (black lines in late July/early August). The stock then consolidated on lighter trading volume.

The Yahoo Financial Profile: Genoptix, Inc. provides specialized laboratory service that focus on delivering customized and collaborative diagnostic services. Its services include COMPASS service offering, in which the company's hematologist's determine the appropriate diagnostic tests to be performed, and then integrates patient history and all previous and current test results into a comprehensive diagnostic report; and CHART service offering, in which the hematologists and oncologists receives a detailed assessment of a patient's disease progression over time. The company also offers multiple diagnostic services, such as professional interpretation by its hematologist's. It focuses on marketing its specialized diagnostic services to community-based hematologists and oncologists treating malignancies of the blood and bone marrow, and other forms of cancer.

Urban Outfitters (URBN) recently broke out to a new high on heavy trading volume. The stocks relative price strength is good (because the stock is at a new all-time high). Earnings have grown from $0.10 cents per share in 2002, to $0.90. Mutual funds have been increasing their ownership, management owns a good percentage of the stock, and the return on equity is good (20%). The stock has closed near the high end of its trading range for the past 5 weeks.

The Yahoo Profile: Urban Outfitters, Inc., a lifestyle specialty retail company, operates specialty retail stores under Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie, Free People, and Terrain brands. Its retail stores offer fashion apparel, footwear, accessories, gifts and decorative items, furniture, books, candles and novelties, pillows and shower curtains, rugs, lighting and antiques, table top items, and bedding products.
